About Mary
I love playing the piano. I started playing from the moment my parents first brought a piano into our home and have been playing ever since. My first teacher provided me with excellent classical training, plus taught me how to improvise from a hymn book and introduced music theory. As a young adult, I made friends with other musicians and from them I learned how to play from lead sheets and chord symbols.
Classically trained for almost 14 years, I now have over 60 years of playing experience, having performed in various capacities as a pianist and accompanist working with churches, schools, wedding coordinators, soloists, ensembles, and more. I also give lessons; my students have ranged in age from 7 to 70. I relish the opportunity to share my enjoyment of music with others.
